Name Definition
Age

The decedent’s age in years at last birthday. Corresponds to item 4a of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

Birthplace

Decedents place of birth. Corresponds to item 6 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

CertifierType

A code that represents the type of death record certifier. Corresponds to item 45 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

Disposition

Disposition of the decedent’s body. Corresponds to items 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

DispositionFacility

The place of disposition of the decedent’s remains. Corresponds to items 19 and 20 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

DispositionType

The method of disposition of the decedent’s remains. Corresponds to item 18 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

Education

Decedent’s level of education. Corresponds to item 51 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

FacilityName

The name of a facility or institution

FuneralFacility

Name and address of the funeral facility. Corresponds to item 21 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

Industry

Kind of industry or business in which the decedent worked. Corresponds to item 55 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

InsideCityLimits

Whether the address is within city limits (true) or not (false).

Job

Type of work done during most of decedent’s working life. Corresponds to item 54 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

MaritalStatusAtDeath

The marital status of the decedent at the time of death. Corresponds to item 9 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

Occupation

Decedent’s usual occupation. Corresponds to items 54 and 55 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

PlaceOfDeath

The location where death occurred. Corresponds to items 14, 15, 16 and 17 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.

PlaceOfDeathType

The type of location at which death occurred.

PlaceOfInjury

Description of the place of injury, e.g. decedent’s home, restaurant, wooded area

PostalAddress

An address expressed using postal conventions (as opposed to GPS or other location definition formats). This data type may be used to convey addresses for use in delivering mail as well as for visiting locations and which might not be valid for mail delivery. ServedInArmedForces

Whether the decedent ever served in the US armed forces. Corresponds to item 8 of the U.S. Standard Certificate of Death.
